Dear NYU Parent and Family Members,
It's finally beginning to look like spring in New York as Washington Square Park begins to bloom. Although this April is quite different from what students usually experience, the month is still jam-packed with events for Earth Month, Ally Week, Greek Week, Commuter Appreciation Week, and planning for Senior Week (just to name a few)—while end-of-the-semester exams are only a month away!
This month’s newsletter provides updates on COVID-19 vaccines, meal plans, registration for summer / fall, planning for residence hall move-out, summer career support, graduation gift boxes, emergency contacts, welcome planning for Fall, and a recapy of recent communications.

COVID-19 Vaccinations
The University strongly encourages those who are eligible to get vaccinated anywhere a vaccine is available. Earlier this month—and corresponding with NY State expanding vaccine eligibility to include all people 16 and older who live, study, and/or work in NY State—the Student Health Center began distributing vaccines at the Washington Square campus as part of the student vaccination program. While our aim is to help NYU community members get vaccinated, the key problem right now—at NYU and nationally—is the demand for vaccines substantially outweighs availability. » Learn about COVID-19 vaccine distribution at NYU and off-campus

Fall 2021 Registration for Current Students
Registration for next year begins on Monday, May 24th by appointment. The actual registration date and time will vary by a student's academic standing. Now is a good time for students to check for any holds that might affect their registration, as well as meet with their academic advisor to help review class options, select courses, and address academic plans. Course selections will open on May 3rd. Additional details about the registration process are available on the Undergraduate Advisement website.
As a reminder, NYU intends to resume in-person classes this Fall as per the President’s recent communication.

NYU Welcome and the Class of 2024
We know the Class of 2024 did not have a traditional first year at NYU. And while we can’t change the circumstances of the last year, please know that as a part of our planning for Fall 2021, NYU Welcome will have a thoughtful and intentional approach for both our current first year students, as well as our newly admitted students who will begin in the Fall. Our planning will include opportunities for students to connect with one another, become familiar with the University and its many resources and people. Details will be shared throughout the summer.
Another way for your student to participate in Welcome programming is as an NYU Welcome Leader! Your student should have received an email earlier this month with details on how to submit an application. If they did not, please have your student email welcome@nyu.edu for updates on how to apply.

Both numbers are available on the back of all student ID cards. Note that the Parent Helpline and email are not monitored evenings or weekends and should not be used for emergencies.
