Back-to-School Extravaganza for Families Impacted by Homelessness |
LA Family Housing (LAFH), together with City National Bank and more than a dozen other partners, kicked off the back-to-school season last week by providing complimentary backpacks, school supplies, and other essential resources and services to families and students impacted by homelessness.

For more than five years, City National Bank has served as a key sponsor of our annual back-to-school event, helping ensure children have the tools and support they need to begin the school year ready to learn. “I'm very grateful and I know all these families are grateful to have the support that we need for our kids for education because that is the most important thing,” said Cristal, a mother of four who lives in one of LAFH’s permanent supportive housing communities.

The event sent a powerful message to families and students that our community is invested in their future and rooting for their success.

Building Stability, One Person at a Time |

For LAFH Housing Stabilizer Kimberly Moore, each participant she works with is a special story, but there is one who will forever stay with her. Two weeks after joining LAFH, Kimberly met Tim. At that time, Tim was going to the hospital two or three times a week and was resistant to taking medication. When he was not in the hospital, Tim frequently caused disturbances at the permanent supportive housing community where he lived, and the property manager was putting pressure on site staff to address the situation.

To make matters even more difficult, the LAFH staff member Tim had built a connection with and trust in, was moving on to another job.

Help Keep a Family's Crisis from Becoming Homelessness |

For a family living paycheck to paycheck, one unexpected bill, a rent increase, or medicine for their sick child can trigger a housing crisis. When that happens, families need more than a list of phone numbers. They need someone who can help them navigate through their challenges in real time. That's where LAFH comes in. For more than 40 years, we have been helping families with critical and specialized services to stabilize their lives.

Your time and talent can help someone step into their next chapter with confidence and dignity. Homeless Connect Day:
August 20

Volunteer at our next Homeless Connect Day on Thursday, August 20th. Support LAFH staff by welcoming people experiencing homelessness, guiding them through event stations, and distributing essential supplies like backpacks, hygiene kits, and clothing. Your help ensures guests feel supported and have access to the resources they need.

| The Pano Room Set Up:

People transitioning out of homelessness often leave a lot behind when they move into stable housing—such as their community and the living situation they had grown accustomed to. With your help setting up rooms in The Pano, a new 90 unit permanent supportive housing community, residents won't be moving into an empty apartment. They'll be moving into a comfortable place that quickly feels like their new home.
