Professional Development Conference Call for Presenters: Proposals due Feb. 2
The Staff Council Professional Development Conference will be held on May 15. This year’s theme is Exploring Kansas City. This conference is a fantastic opportunity to share your expertise and network with colleagues. We are now accepting session proposals. All proposals are due by Feb. 2. Harvesters Volunteer Day on Feb. 3: Register by Jan. 29
Join the Staff Council Outreach Committee on Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m. as we volunteer to sort food for Harvesters. Families and children ages 8 and up are welcome to join. Our UMKC team will be assigned a task in the Harvesters warehouse like sorting food, packing backpack snacks, or working in the coolers. Space is limited--sign up by Jan. 29.
Join us for the Community Blood Center blood drive on Feb. 16 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Help save the lives of others by donating blood. This blood drive will take place in Pierson Auditorium in the Atterbury Student Success Center. Register today on the UMKC Blood Drive website.
UMKC Staff Volunteer Day at Junior Achievement BizTown: Mar. 1, 8:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Staff Council Outreach Committee is planning their annual Junior Achievement volunteer day on Mar. 1 from 8:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. UMKC volunteers will staff JA BizTown storefronts, assisting students at work while getting guidance from Junior Achievement staff. Position-specific training will occur the morning of the event, and there is no required training beforehand. Storefronts will be assigned the day of the event and there is no industry-specific knowledge required. Space is limited--register by Feb. 23.
