Sacramento, Calif. – Cal Expo is partnering with Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) on Monday - June 22, 2020, to host Giving Monday, a food drive in support of the Elk Grove Food Bank. Giving Monday is an opportunity for local residents and the community at large to support those in need with food resources during these especially difficult times.
Due to the local impacts of COVID-19, Cal Expo and SMUD wish to continue the three-year tradition of supporting food drives that began two years ago at the California State Fair. The Elk Grove Food Bank has experienced a 600 percent rise in the number of requests for resources since the beginning of the pandemic.
Cal Expo is inviting local media to cover this event and can offer interviews and pre-food drive setup.
