A Weekend Away in the Mountains
Class trips are allowed again this school year! The first week of school 2 other leaders and I were able to take 8th and 9th grade teens from the Lukas School for 2 overnights in the mountains. What a joy to just BE with teenagers and build relationships again after so long off and on. Topic was becoming a man/woman. Aaron joined 13 9th grade boys and was able to share his testimony and how God has changed how he sees himself. Luisa and I brought 4 girls to a hut where we played approximately 1,000 hours of card games and also hiked around a little and talked about so many cool examples of women in the Bible who they'd never heard of! I love every chance I get to share with young women that they are beloved children of God!
Contact Work- back to the basics!
All of our teams are focusing in on the very basic element of the work we do- contact work. It means we show up whereever kids are, enter their lives and build friendships. It means GOING, and spending TIME. Pray with us for new connections with young people and deepened friendships that lead to spiritual conversations.
Prayer Requests
  • One out of every three teenagers in Germany experienced anxiety or depression during lockdowns the last two years. Pray that God would give us wisdom to ask the right questions to these young people as we build friendships during this vulnerable time in their life.
  • This week I will be leading staff training for 10 new staff in the DACH Region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Pray for great discussions and community!
  • Pray for Young Life Club gatherings at the Lukas School, in the Bogenhausen neighborhood, and with University students in November.
  • Pray for new small group Bible Studys at the Lukas School and with University students.
Big love from Munich,
