Tree Climbing Offered on Arbor Day!

A guide assists with a tree climbing adventure. Tree climbing with Expedition Old Growth.
See the world in a new way this Arbor Day, from high up in the trees!

This year's Arbor Day celebration will offer you the chance to experience trees in a whole new way. Expedition Old Growth, a Pacific Northwest-based company that offers guided tree climbing, is joining Portland Parks & Recreation for our Arbor Day Celebration!

Expedition Old Growth's skilled arborists will have free climbing stations set up in the trees at Mt. Scott Park. People of all ages are welcome to come get a bird's eye view of the Arbor Day Celebration. Professional tree climbers will show you the ropes, saddles, and special gear you will use in your big tree climbing adventure. They will also demonstrate the tree climbing techniques that help them safely reach the forest canopy without harming or changing the trees.
Climbing trees with Expedition Old Growth will be one of many exciting ways to learn more about and appreciate Portland’s great trees during our Arbor Day celebration. If you have not already, mark your calendars for Arbor Day, Saturday, April 21, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Mt. Scott Park.
