Social Justice Follow Up Period Poverty |
Those of you who attended our most recent book discussion/social action meeting had requested that we share different ways to help combat the issue of 'Period Poverty." This issue deals with the fact that many women are not able to afford the cost of necessary feminine hygiene products. Here are some ways that you (and your sisterhood) can help:
|
-
Check the bathrooms at your temple to make sure period products are available. Ask if products are available for free in local schools.
- Ask your local federation if there is a period poverty program already in existence.
- Check out these organizations to help you with your programming ideas.
