(L-R)
Matthew Light - Matt joined ORSP as Coordinator for Proposal Development in mid-April. He previously worked in behavioral healthcare and has a master’s in Psychological Research.
"I have learned my role is exciting and dynamic, in that I get to learn about and respond to the diverse faculty needs and research interests as we help them pursue funding support. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, hiking, anything science-fiction, and cooking."
Samantha Davis - Sammy is a newly joined Research Coordinator with the Submissions & Awards team. Previously, Samantha has a bachelor’s in English and her previous position was based out of the SHSU post-award grant office, Office of Research Administration (ORA).
"Going forward in my role, I hope to continue learning and gaining experience in grant and grant submissions, foster more relationships and connections with faculty, staff, and students."
Fun fact, Samantha is an avid reader, music-lover, caffeine-addict, and amateurish crocheter. She currently lives in Huntsville, TX with her husband, two cats, and two dogs.
We are excited about the skills and energy Matt and Sammy bring to our office and look forward to achieving great things together!
