Wellness Warrior
Congratulations to our Wellness Warrior for April, Kristen Johnson! The Wellness Warrior Award is given to individuals across campus who are nominated by their peers for leading by example and inspiring through action as they work to create a healthier lifestyle.
Kristen has been an assistant professor in Family and Consumer Sciences at UT for the past four and half years. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading.
We asked Kristen what inspires her to make healthy choices and live a healthy lifestyle and she shared that it is important to her to make choices that support her health and wellbeing so that she can continue to engage in the activities that she enjoys, as well as she can and for as long as she can.
In Kristen's position as a Nutrition Extension Specialist, she has had the opportunity to lead worksite wellness programs for University of Tennessee employees on-campus, as well as employees who work off-campus, in County Extension offices, and other locations. She is extremely grateful for this opportunity as it has given her a chance to connect and learn along with other employees as they discuss strategies to support their health and wellbeing and work-life balance. She shared that watching these individuals develop and strengthen skills and achieve their goals is inspiring!
