Dear Colleagues:
In this edition of Basically Speaking, I am delighted to share some of the remarkable discoveries made by scientists in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Basic Sciences. Once again, our school has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, and I am proud to highlight just a few of your outstanding achievements in the past year.
Critical to our success is the solid foundation established by our dedicated staff, who consistently support our faculty, graduate students, and postdocs in their endeavors. From maintaining equipment and lab space, managing grants, and recruiting students and faculty to planning seminars and symposia and handling countless additional responsibilities, their contributions keep our enterprise moving ahead at full speed.
These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication, talent, and vision of our faculty, trainees, postdocs, and staff. It is an honor to lead such an exceptional group of colleagues, and I look forward to celebrating more of our successes in 2025.
