During the retreat, students were put into small groups of 5-6 students with two Lasallian leaders, all from different schools. In the small groups, we explored what “vocation” means to us, reflecting on our gifts and talents, and how they guide us towards our vocational paths. We also discussed different ways of finding peace in our daily lives, prayer practices, and our future educational and career aspirations.
Through larger group discussions, we explored how to weave our faith into daily practices, shared both morning and evening prayers, and attended Sunday Mass, a vocational panel from the Brothers, and Mr. K-E's presentation on how he has recognized and shared his own gifts and talents. During our retreat, we also had community time; we watched the Super Bowl, learned card games from our fellow peers, played 8-ball pool, and visited the Sonoma Coast State Park.
What did we enjoy most about the Called and Chosen Retreat? For me, it was an eye-opening experience, being able to learn from my peers across SFNO. Logan shared, “Throughout my stay, I really enjoyed being able to meet Lasallian students from around SFNO. I was also able to learn about their own experiences at other Lasallian schools.”
