Join us in celebrating the incredible teachers of The Arc Montgomery County during Teacher Appreciation Week! The teachers in our inclusive childcare center and our youth afterschool program dedicate themselves daily to empowering and educating students of all abilities.

After All Summer Program

Summer programming at After All runs June through August from 8 am–6 pm. This program for pre-teens and adolescents with IDD includes:

Outdoor Recreation
Arts & Crafts
Outings to area attractions like the National Aquarium and Trolley Museum
Activities like computer development skills, and social media safety
and more!

Join STAND Together

This peer-led advocacy group meets virtually on the second Wednesday of each month, from 4–5 pm. Various topics of interest to the group are covered such as learning to speak up for yourself, decision-making, expressing your ideas, and building a network of friends.

Take Your Child to Work Day

On Thursday, April 25, The Arc Montgomery County hosted Take Your Child to Work Day. It was a success! Several employees brought their children and families to HQ for the day–where the Leadership Team and colleagues introduced themselves, their work, and answered some great questions from the children in attendance. After, our friends from The Arc Maryland and Montgomery Parks Program Access led fun and informative activities for the kids. Special shoutout to our student volunteers who participated this year, guiding the younger kids in attendance and sitting in on a meeting, providing key input on a coming initiative. We’re looking forward to next year!

Barbeque Celebration

Employment & Meaningful Day was awarded $25,000 so people with IDD can try something new on their list! This funding will allow people supported by the program to try new recreational activities to benefit physical and mental health, boost self-confidence, and enhance social interactions.

To celebrate, everyone came together for a barbeque kickoff event. We are deeply grateful to the foundation for their recognition and support!

Job Fair

Do you know someone looking for a career change? The Arc has openings and will be hosting a job fair at our headquarters in Rockville on Thursday, May 9 from 10 am–2 pm with onsite interviews. We are looking for dynamic, motivated, empathetic, and creative employees to provide support for people with IDD. We have openings for Direct Support Professionals in all divisions and an associate teacher position in Children & Youth Services.
