Important fall updates about Turnitin |
As we prepare for the new academic year, we want to inform you of several important updates regarding Portland State University's relationship with Turnitin. After a thorough review, PSU has renewed its agreement with Turnitin, with significant changes focused on improving student data privacy and refining how we use the platform.
|
Turnitin assignments through Canvas only: The external Turnitin site is now disabled. All Turnitin assignments now must be facilitated through Canvas.
AI detection disabled: The AI detection feature has been disabled due to concerns about accuracy and privacy. For more information, see our AI for Teaching Guide.
Repository option: You now have the option to store student submissions in a PSU-only repository for future similarity checks or not store them at all.
Updated syllabus language requirement: The language you must add to your syllabus has been modified to provide students with more information about how their data is used.
Our team is here to help you explore these questions and make any necessary adjustments to your course design. If you’d like personalized guidance, please submit a support request, and we’ll be happy to work with you one-on-one to achieve your academic goals. Additionally, we invite you to explore more about this topic at our upcoming events:
