It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival, a time when many families gather together to enjoy mooncakes and gaze at the full moon. But what is it like to be away from home during this special time? NYU Shanghai students share their feelings. 

Superconductivity has been at the forefront of scientific research and technological innovation since its discovery in 1911. A recent paper, published in Nature Communications and first authored by NYU Shanghai Assistant Professor of Physics Chen Hanghui, explains the origin of charge order observed in nickelate superconductors.

Intended for those with a basic foundation in college mathematics, this award-winning course taught by Assistant Professor of Mathematics Jinzi Mac Huang offers students the tools to solve real-world problems using math modeling skills. The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission recognized the course as a “first-class undergraduate course” in 2021. 

The Tisch School of the Arts acting and dramatic writing teacher has enjoyed a slow and steady rise onstage as she stays creatively engaged in the classroom. Silverman won a Tony for her role as Mavis in Lorraine Hansberry’s The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window.

With the rapid development in computing devices, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation as an accurate physics-based method has become more and more accessible for large scale protein-protein and protein-ligand calculations that are of fundamental interest in drug discovery. In this talk, Qiantao Wang from Sichuan University will discuss their recent progress and challenges in applying MD simulation to real world drug discovery projects, from virtual screening to lead optimization.
