COVID-19 Update
December 10, 2020  •   coronavirus.uoregon.edu

What You Need to Know

  • UO students can opt in to UOPD’s vacation watch program this winter break to have officers do regular patrol checks on their off-campus homes. UOPD officers will also collect parcels left on the stoop of homes they’re checking on for safekeeping. While the free service can't guarantee a property won't be the target of crime, a regular police presence creates a deterrent and provides residents quick notification if any suspicious activity occurs
  • UO faculty and staff are reminded to stay aware during winter break as they access campus. Don't let strangers into buildings and report malfunctioning doors or windows to CPFM Work Control.

Tip of the Week: Pass the Potatoes...and COVID-19
Before you spend time at family gatherings, consider that COVID-19 can spread even between a small group of people. Just one infected person can expose the whole group—even if the infected person didn’t have symptoms. Don’t let that person be you. Play it safe, #MaskUp, and avoid spreading the virus to your family and friends. #ChooseEachOther

Featured FAQ

Is UO-sponsored travel permitted?

All nonessential university travel, both international and domestic (including local travel by motor vehicle), is suspended until further notice.

Faculty and staff may submit a travel waiver and acknowledgment of risk form in Concur to request an exemption. As of December 7, the authorization for travel approval moved to the Travel Advisory Group (TAG). Departments may not approve travel outside of the TAG exemption process.

Trips where the travel and activity risk can be significantly mitigated will be considered for approval. Air travel will be closely scrutinized and only approved in very limited circumstances.

Travel booked without an approved exemption will NOT be eligible for reimbursement and is not eligible for coverage under the UO’s international supplemental travel insurance policy.

More information and guidance on UO travel can be found at the Business Affairs COVID-19 travel information.
