Message from the Director of Skier Services:
I want to thank everyone for helping make this past holiday season a great experience for our ski school guests. Despite our weather challenges, we were able to offer the highest number of trails and skiable acreage in all of Vermont. We were also able to accommodate more guests this year, while at the same time reducing our class sizes which hopefully made for a better guest and employee experience. These new year holidays are always challenging due to the number of new employees working at our resort, combined with the high volume of guest visits. With that said, I was truly impressed with the professionalism of our Ski & Ride School, the training of our new instructors, and the teamwork we displayed over the past few weeks. We definitely had some operational learnings from the past few weeks, which we will work to correct before the quickly approaching MLK weekend.
It is currently snowing as I write this at 8:45 am on Friday morning and it is amazing what just a little snow will do to make it feel like winter again. As most of you know that have been skiing/riding at Okemo recently, the mountain took a pretty good beating with the rain and warm temps. The cover is thin and an inch or two of new snow can hide a lot of hazards. We will continue to make snow every minute we can so more terrain can be opened. In the meantime, please tread lightly.
Thank you for everything you do and see you on the hill,
Steve
