Resources for Leading Critical Classroom Conversations

Issues concerning social justice are more than just topics for speeches or for debate rounds. They affect students, teachers, families, and communities daily. Increasingly, some are choosing violence instead of dialogue in relation to these topics. As an educator, you may feel overwhelmed and unsure how to foster these vulnerable yet critical classroom conversations. Thank you for committing to doing so! We invite you to explore our collection of curated resources as you prepare and engage in this critical dialogue.

Nominate Coaches for the 2021 Hall of Fame Class

We are currently accepting nominations for the Hall of Fame! Any NSDA coach may submit a nomination. Individuals with 25 years of NSDA coach membership prior to the start of the National Tournament (e.g., a merit date of June 13, 1996, or earlier), or who are retired from coaching and teaching, are eligible for this prestigious award. The nomination deadline is February 1

Celebrate Student Service

Remember, your students can earn service points for using their talents to benefit their peers, schools, and communities! In addition to contributing to Honor Society degrees, students also make progress toward a new NSDA award as they earn service points!
The Speaking and Service Award annually recognizes students who go above and beyond in their service to their teams, schools, and communities. To earn the award for the 2020-2021 school year, students must earn 200 service points (the maximum number possible in a given school year in our Honor Society) between August 1, 2020 and July 31, 2021. No application process is required. Current member students of all ages are eligible. Enter student service points today or remind students how to submit them on their own

Save Time with Tournament Services

In addition to providing free Extemp questions for district tournaments, we use the same team to develop and facilitate tournament services for your invitational tournaments! We offer a discount for members, plus additional savings for Resource Package subscribers. Learn more »
