You're 7 Months from Publication!

Now is a great time to start sending out your event asks!

When contacting bookstores, libraries, and venues here are a few things to keep in mind:

Suggest a time frame/date range to give the venue some options and flexibility
Keep the email short, but make sure to include the following bits of information:
- Your book title, pub date, and ISBN. Mention that it's coming out with Red Hen Press, and we're distributed by Publishers Group West
- Your event idea, alongside any authors you plan on doing the event with
- A brief explanation on why you think your event idea is important/relevant and can bring in an audience
It's a plus if you can add in any reassurances that you can bring in an audience (like letting them know you went to school or grew up in the area and have many friends who'll definitely come).
If your ability to travel is hindered for any reason, consider trying to line up Zoom class visits or Zoom reading events

At this stage in the timeline, covers should hopefully be finalized or imminently finalized. Metadata has been plugged in but we continue to enhance and improve it, including adding any late blurbs you might be getting, or any additional publicity updates we're getting.
