X-STEM Symposium News 



March is Women's History Month and we'd like to acknowledge some remarkable women who will present at the X-STEM Symposium, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, at the D.C. Convention Center this April 28th. 

2017 X-STEM Speakers

As a NASA manager, her accomplishments are many, including serving as a certified astronaut EVA (extra-vehicular activity) instructor, and working on programs involving the International Space Station, Space Shuttle, and the Hubble space telescope. Her present work includes managing airborne science missions that study Earth’s systems all over the planet. Now hang on as she takes you inside one of her most challenging and exciting NASA assignments: the ambitious IceBridge Project set in Antarctica!

This prominent evolutionary biologist at Chicago´s renowned Field Museum of Natural History transformed her childhood love of ants into a research focus that is shedding fascinating light on the evolution and diversification of these creatures!

As part of X-STEM 2017 on April 28th, we have collaborated with Festival Sponsor and local technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, to create a special STEM Career Luncheon for a select number of students attending X-STEM. The goal of this luncheon program is to give students a real-life look at the day-to-day lives of STEM Experts at Booz Allen Hamilton and learn about the rewards (and challenges) of going into a career in this field.
