Welcome back! It’s been a busy summer, and we have exciting new resources and opportunities to share with you!

Haven't Renewed Yet? If you're a chapter advisor, be sure to activate your 2016-2017 membership now to maximize your access to resources and get your students excited about earning points! If you haven't renewed, you'll continue to receive these weekly newsletters through the month of September. After that, they'll "turn off" until you renew, so visit your school profile now to start the year off right!

Earn Up to $1,700 for Hosting a Division of the Big Questions Debates at Your School or Tournament » We are thrilled to announce a new debate event for high school students centering around life’s big questions! In this one-on-one form of competition, students will debate topics concerning the intersection of science, philosophy, and religion. Your team could earn up to $1,700 by hosting an event! Student Leadership Committee » Encourage your students to apply for the 2016-2017 Student Leadership Committee! The SLC is designed to represent the needs of the student body by connecting, supporting, and inspiring student leaders to advocate on behalf of all members. The deadline to apply is September 16 and applications require coach approval. For additional information, or to access the online application form, click here.
LD Topic Voting » Help us determine the Lincoln-Douglas resolutions for November/December 2016 through September/October 2017! Member students and chapter advisors can visit www.speechanddebate.org/topics to log in and access the online ballot. Voting ends September 11 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
