In addition to the Walk & Ride Challenge and Silly Walks as mandated by the fictional Ministry of Silly Walks, we have Walktober from the very real State of Maryland Department of Transportation!

Did you know that walking is the official State Exercise of Maryland? Walktober seeks to celebrate that and increase awareness of all the benefits of walking - including walking as a mode of transportation!

To participate in Walktober, you can register for a Walkinar, be a Sole Mate by participating in Walk Maryland Day on October 7, or you can simply take a walk and document it on social media using the #WalktoberMD hashtag!

On September 27, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation expanded bus service in areas with the highest demand, as well as the Ride On extRa routes. In addition, the Ride On Real Time web application will be reinstated so you will have your bus' most up-to-date info once again.

This year the Taste of Bethesda had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 safety concerns, but that shouldn't stop you from frequenting some of your favorite Bethesda restaurants, or giving a new one a try!

From October 1-11, the Bethesda Urban Partnership will be bringing you "Savor Bethesda," where you can receive amazing deals at participating Bethesda restaurants for dine-in or carryout!
