Future Scientists

Occupational Therapy students Savanna Girouard MSOT’25 and Conner Kankelborg OTD’25 were recently selected through a national competition to participate in the AOTA/AOTF Institute for Future Scientists in Occupational Therapy. Alongside OT students from around the country, Girouard and Kankelborg attended workshops, received mentoring, and began developing research-centered networks to support their scholarly interests as occupational therapists.

Life in the Fast Lane

First-year Logger sprinter Alex Rhodes ’27 placed third in the 400-meter dash at the USA Track & Field Under-20 Championships June 12–13 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Rhodes broke his own school record and personal record during the final heat of the USATF U20s, breaking 46 seconds for the first time with a time of 45.93, something he explained is a "huge milestone for all 400m sprinters." Said Rhodes, "I still haven't wrapped my head around the situation and what has happened. It's a lot to take in, to have come this far so quickly and to be representing the Loggers on Team USA at the U20 World Championships."

Good Vibes

Last week, hundreds of Logger alumni returned to campus for Summer Reunion Weekend. This year's event featured celebrations for classes of 1974 and 1999, the 50th anniversaries of PacRim and the Computer Science department, a staging of the play Fairview, and special guests from Hwa Nan Women's College in Fuzhou, China.
