December Spotlight: FAFSA Release Update |
|
|
The 2024-2025 FAFSA should be available by December 31, so if you haven’t already, NOW is the time to start preparing.
UCanGo2.org offers links to a number of FAFSA publications and resources. Check out the recently updated Finish the FAFSA in Five Steps and FAFSA Facts. This form provides tips to simplify the FAFSA process for you and your parents.

We also share the FSA ID Worksheet, in English and Spanish, and Who Needs an FSA ID? flowchart. It’s important that you and your parents have created the FSA ID, and have received confirmation on it before starting the FAFSA.
Our FAFSA Fundamentals PowerPoint presentation is a great way to learn what the FAFSA is and why it’s important for you and your student! This resource offers detailed information on completing and understanding the FAFSA.
Check back soon for our FAFSA Learning Modules, and FAFSA completion video. We should have those available in the new year.
For additional information, please visit UCanGo2.org and StartWithFAFSA.org. These sites offer numerous tools to help you navigate the FAFSA and plan for college.
Good luck!

Our FSA ID Worksheet (also available in Spanish) will walk you through the creation process, while also providing a way to keep all your necessary information in one handy place.
The FSA ID flowchart for dependent students, helps you determine which parent(s) will need to create an FSA ID for their student’s FAFSA.
The 2024-25 Dependency Questionnaire will help you determine the dependency status of a student. Dependent students must include parent information on the FAFSA; independent students do not.
