JIMMY CHAMBERLIN, LEGENDARY DRUMMER FOR SMASHING PUMPKINS,  VISITS SOR ELMHURST!
Remember, that one time, JIMMY CHAMBERLIN, THE ORIGINAL DRUMMER FOR THE SMASHING PUMPKINS CAME TO THE SCHOOL AND ROCKED OUT WITH OUR STUDENTS?!?!  Nicest guy ever award goes to him... Jimmy came by and played 2 famous Pumpkins songs with Elmhurst House Band kids, answered questions about music and shared insights from his own career! Special thanks to Fox News Chicago for picking up the story and airing it on their Sunday morning show!

INSTRUCTORS AND STUDENTS RAISE MONEY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS!

Why are SOR instructors dressed as KISS?  To help raise money for our favorite charity: Rock School Scholarship Fund!  The benefit concert, which featured thematic performances from our instructors, highlighted the end of a week long "Dollar Wars" fundraising effort in the schools. Between the Dollar Wars, concert tickets sales and 10% of all camp proceeds from that week, we raised: 

$3,400!!!

SOR STUDENT ACCEPTED TO BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC!

Yes, that's right!!  
THE Berklee College of Music in Boston!  
Our very own SOR ELmhurst student, Ann SK., was accepted to and is currently enrolled in classes! 
Ann was one of the very first students to sign up for School of Rock Elmhurst when we opened our doors almost 5 years ago!  She's worked very hard and come a long way since then and we couldn't be prouder of her! 
She joins a line of SOR students who have been with us from day one through graduation and moved on to attend Berklee! 
Congratulations Ann! 


SOR STUDENT IS WGN RADIO'S: KID OF THE WEEK!

10-year-old SOR Hinsdale drummer, Owen Chaidez was featured on WGNTV as Kid of the Week back in August when he opened a playground for kids of all abilities!! Check out the full story here!




STUDENT ROCKS BULLS HALFTIME SHOW!
This is SOR Naperville student Parker B.  You may know him from his band Stellar West.  He also was the guy that won the Chicago Bulls Halftime Show Competition back in February with his amazing version of "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones.  Congrats Parker!

Congratulations to the students who graduated School of Rock this past summer!  Here they are posing with their graduation gift - custom School of Rock Converse sneakers! Congrats to all!



SHOUT OUT TO SOR STUDENT BANDS!

Stellar West features 3 young men from our Naperville school who write and perform original music.  These guys have had quite a busy year... In addition to releasing their first ever LP "Unfiltered", they also performed at Riot Fest AND made Alternative Press magazine's Top 7 Rising Bands Under 21 list. We're so proud!! The Millennials are a band made up of current and former SOR Hinsdale students who play the classics... you know: Zeppelin, Stones, Guns n' Roses, etc... for crowds of all sizes!  These kids had quite a busy year with over 25 shows and more planned in 2017!  Check them out here!
