Matthew Sisk, associate professor of the practice for the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, participated in panel and workshop discussions hosted by Crossroads United Way of Elkhart, Lagrange, and Noble Counties.
The presentations were part of dedicated efforts to address poverty in Elkhart, Lagrange, and Noble Counties, where 42% of residents are categorized as A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).

The Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society at the University of Notre Dame seeks an open-rank research professor (non tenure-track) with strong expertise and experience in AI, especially in large language models (LLMs), their responsible and inclusive use for a variety of use-cases.
The research faculty will be working closely with Nitesh Chawla, founding director of the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society and the Frank M. Freimann Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. The ideal candidate would have evidence of excellence in research as demonstrated by research publications in high impact venues and/or significant practical experience in industry that demonstrates development and deployment of technologies at scale.

This talk argues against the conflation of digital and computational that ails contemporary discourse. Searching for a common logic among analog, digital, and quantum computing, Ranjodh Singh Dhaliwal, the Ruth and Paul Idzik Collegiate Chair in Digital Scholarship and English will ask, "what exactly is computation, if not digitality?" Answers will be found in the individuating backbone that runs through histories of postal, civic, and technological addresses.
