Dear Hilltoppers,
On Tuesday, we updated you on the university’s Fall 2021 COVID-19 Vaccination requirement and we committed to provide regular updates on the university's work with regional health authorities and health partners to advocate for university community members' access to vaccinations. Availability is changing day to day, and we are excited to share that the university just established a pathway for students in all vaccine groups (1A, 1B, and 1C) and general availability (all 16-years of age or older) to pre-register for vaccination appointments through Ascension Medical Group.
Important Details:
o This pre-registration process is not a guarantee for immediate scheduling.
o Eligible students must be enrolled in one or more courses for Spring, Summer, or Fall 2021.
o Students MUST BE available in the Austin area to receive their second dose 21 to 28 days after the first dose, and on a Saturday. This timeframe will likely fall beyond the end of the spring semester. At this time, Ascension is only receiving regular supply of the two-dose, Pfizer and Moderna, vaccines necessitating this requirement.
o Ascension Medical Group will prioritize appointment availability based upon:
o Vaccine allocations received
o Individuals' status under Texas’ vaccine groups
o Residential status based upon CDC congregate housing guidelines
o Vaccinations will NOT occur on campus.
o Vaccination appointments will be available at one or more of the following Seton Family of Doctors Express care locations. (see attached FAQ)
o Students are required to provide their own transportation to and from the vaccination site. (Students without transportation may utilize the Health and Counseling Center’s partnership with Lyft to go directly from campus to a vaccination clinic and return.)
o The registration process is not open to friends, family, or other household members. Please see
