The Dept of Public Health’s TB Control Program Recommends Deferring TB Screening for Staff and Residents
The NC Tuberculosis Control Program recommends deferring required tuberculin skin testing or interferon gamma release assay testing for several groups, including staff of adult care homes upon employment and residents of adult care homes upon admission. Read the entire memo here.
These people should undergo a baseline symptom screen, and appropriate evaluation should be performed for people with symptoms of tuberculosis. You need to track people for whom testing has been deferred and test them once social distancing requirements have been relaxed.
