We are almost at the semester midpoint, and UNT’s Spring Break is just a few days away, March 10-14. The university will be open next week, but classes will not be in session.
Don’t forget –– Daylight Saving Time is set to begin Sunday, March 9, when clocks will jump forward by one hour from 2 to 3 a.m.

CELEBRATE HOLI AT UNT
Join the Festival of Colors the week after Spring Break, and enjoy music, traditional Holi food and the throwing of powder paint! Celebrate Holi from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 17, on the University Union South Lawn, or at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Frisco Landing.

GROW MEAN GREEN
The UNT Community Garden has a new home behind Crumley Hall, and you’re invited to its grand opening Saturday, March 22! The expanded space has 10 additional raised garden planters, a vegetable washing station, larger shed space and eventually it will include a hydroponic garden system. As a special thank you, grand opening attendees will receive a free limited-edition celebration T-shirt.

Don’t forget to purchase your commencement regalia if you’re graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree this spring! You can order online from Jostens until Monday, March 31. In-store purchases may be made at the UNT Barnes & Noble bookstore until Friday, April 18; however, keep in mind that inventory may run low as the big day approaches.

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the achievements, strength and influence of women throughout history and in our community. What started as a week long observance in 1980 has grown into a month dedicated to honoring those who have paved the way for progress. LUNAR ECLIPSE PARTY
If you're up for a late-night adventure during Spring Break, head to the UNT Rafes Urban Astronomy Center for the total lunar eclipse. The party begins at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, and continues through the night as the lunar eclipse unfolds in the early hours of March 14. Enjoy a presentation, star party stations and telescope views of this celestial event. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased online.
In the event of bad or cloudy weather, the website will be updated that day to notify attendees of a cancellation.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The latest win tied the program's longest conference winning streak at seven and matched the most wins in program history. The Mean Green team will play in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Monday, March 10.
