Expanding Your Funding Strategy with Private Foundations |

Mini-Engaging Exploration Series: Artificial Intelligence |
This Mini-EE session will focus on Artificial Intelligence and the best practices for conducting effective, ethical AI research. All full-time instructors regardless of position or rank are encouraged to apply. Faculty participants will receive a $100 stipend upon completion.

Serve as a Review Panelist |
AmeriCorps, NASA, and the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) are seeking faculty experts to serve as grant reviewers.
Serving as a review panelist is a great opportunity to:

📌 Strengthen grant-writing skills
📌 Expand professional networks
AmeriCorps & NIFA – Looking for faculty with expertise in areas like disaster services, education, environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, capacity building, and agriculture.
NASA – Looking for subject matter experts (SMEs) to participate in virtual panel discussions or provide external reviews for various programs. Postdocs and upper-level graduate students are also welcome! If your expertise aligns, NASA will reach out for potential assignments.

TEDxSHSU 2025: Invitation for Talk Proposals |
SHSU will host our fourth annual TEDxSHSU on October 1, 2025.
TEDx events highlight big ideas from local experts, researchers, thinkers, doers, artists, innovators, community leaders, and change-makers. TED’s mission is to “discover and spread ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding, and drive meaningful change.”
We invite faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members, and regional thought leaders interested in giving a 10 to 15-minute TEDxSHSU talk to apply.

The Office of Assessment is still accepting applications for its Assessment Mini-Grant Program for the 2025-2026 academic year.
These competitive grants provide funding to faculty and staff at SHSU to support assessment-related activities, including new or ongoing assessment practices within programs, offices, or departments; and travel funding to present assessment-related research at professional conferences.
📌 Award Amount: Up to $1,000 per recipient
📌 Application Deadline: May 23, 2025
