Get Ready for Camp Registration
Summer Camp online registration begins in March!
The Leisure Services Department has a variety of summer camp opportunities available:

Online summer camp registration on Saturday, March 19 at 9:00 a.m. Non-residents may register starting Monday, March 21 at noon. All registration takes place online at www.accgov.com/myrec
Individuals who do not have access to a computer or smart phone may register online using the computer labs at Heard Park (formerly East Athens Community Center) at 400 McKinley Dr., Lay Park at 297 Hoyt St., or Rocksprings Park at 291 Henderson Ext. during regular hours of operation.
Payment may be rendered using a debit card, American Express, Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa, or a MasterCard or Visa gift card.

Learn to Swim this Summer!
The Leisure Services Department offers small group swim lessons for children. All lessons are taught by certified lifeguards.
Online registration begins for ACC residents on Saturday, March 19 at 9:00 a.m . Non-residents may register starting Monday, March 21 at noon. All registration takes place online at www.accgov.com/myrec
Learn to swim programs include:
Kinderswim: This program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost.
Swim School: Small group swim lessons for children ages 3 and older and must be potty trained to participate in Swim School.
Parent and Tot Swim School for Children: This program is for children aged six months to three-years-old. These swim lessons are meant to introduce your child to the water and are taught by our certified lifeguards. Each lesson is 45-minutes and take place at the Bishop Park pool.

Summer Jobs
The Leisure Services Department is now hiring for approximately 120 summer positions. Applications are currently being accepted for summer positions with camps and aquatics.
Pay is $15 an hour. Mid-summer bonuses, dependent on position, range from $200 - $400.

Show us Your Good Grades!
The Report Card Rewards Program celebrates Athens-Clarke County students with good grades with pool passes!
In order to be eligible, students, Kindergarten through 12th grade, who reside in Athens-Clarke County must take a copy of their final report card of the year or equivalent to the park office where a swimming pool is located.
A report card with all A's or all E's guarantees a free summer pool pass. A report card with all A's and B's, or all E's and M's, is good for 10 free swims.

Bears' Birthday Party
We can bear-ly contain our excitment!
Make a wish! The Leisure Services Department will present a special birthday party for Bear Hollow Zoo’s resident bears Athena, DJ, and Yonah.
Bear Hollow Zoo will host this special birthday celebration Saturday, March 19 from 10:00 a..m. – 1:00 p.m.
The community is invited to join this celebration and watch the bears unwrap their presents and enjoy their cake. A birthday card will be available to be signed by well-wishers and there will be crafts, as well.
This program is free and open to the public.

Scholarship Information
The Leisure Services Department offers scholarship to qualifying Athens-Clarke County children. Scholarships allow participants to pay less than the program fee.
Parents must apply for a scholarship at least five business days before the start of registration.

The Leisure Services Department offers a variety of programs just for teenagers.
The selection includes art, dance, and theatre, as well as football watch parties, Girls Night Out, podcasting, media arts, video games, drones,Teen Nights, and more!
