Looking to take the next step in your career? The Office of Economic Vitality (OEV) and CareerSource Capital Region (CSCR) invite you to a workforce readiness event on May 6, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Smith-Williams Service Center.
This free event is designed to help job seekers gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in today’s job market. CSCR experts will be on-site providing job search assistance, resume writing and review guidance, and mock interviews to help you put your best foot forward.
Light refreshments will be provided. So come out to enhance your job readiness skills, connect, and prepare for new career opportunities!

OEV Director Bowers Joins Economic Collaboration Roundtable with Florida League of Mayors

OEV Director Keith Bowers recently joined local leaders at The Monroe for the Florida League of Mayors Economic Collaboration Roundtable. During this event, he shared insights on successful public-private partnerships—highlighting the transformative $11 million SoMo Walls project on Tallahassee’s Southside.
During the discussion, Director Bowers emphasized how collaboration between government, private developers, and the community led to the creation of SoMo Walls, a vibrant mixed-use development that’s revitalizing a historically underserved area in our community. The project is estimated to have a $5.2 million annual economic impact, creating 50 jobs. By leveraging targeted incentives, strategic planning, and inclusive engagement, the project serves as a model for equitable economic development.
We’re proud to showcase Tallahassee-Leon County’s success on a statewide platform and will continue fostering partnerships that turn bold ideas into real impact.
