Welcome back to another CEO Update. As we begin the new year, Downtown Tucson welcomes a number of new businesses like MOVE Cycle Studio, Blue Front and the Dandelion Café and Bakery. All three of these new businesses are locally owned and operated by women. Find opening dates and locations below.

Insta Photo Contest Winner

Congratulations to Ray Cleveland for taking these stunning images for our Insta Photo Contest! He won a $100 Downtown Tucson Gift Card. Special thanks to Rio Nuevo for sponsoring Tucson's Christmas Tree for the Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) last year.

Time to Take Down Holiday Light Lines

Thanks to those that participated in the DTP's Building Illumination Program. The Building Illumination Program is a temporary holiday display that meets the parameters of the City of Tucson/Pima County Dark Skies ordinance. The ordinance allows for temporary holiday lighting through January 15, while minimizing light pollution throughout the rest of the year. Property owners are asked to remove their roof light lines by Sunday, January 15. The 148 street trees, tight-wrapped in white LED lights, will remain aglow through March, just in time for the tree’s growing season.

New Cycling Studio Makes You MOVE

MOVE Cycle Studio is now open at 148 S. 4th Avenue. Indoor cycling classes are 45 minutes long on stationary bicycles and are led by a MOVE cycle instructor. Support a new local business by taking a class this new year. Click here to learn more.

New American Restaurant Opens Monday

Blue Front, "Fine American Food," will open its doors this coming Monday, January 16 at 110 E. Congress Street. After their opening on Monday, their days and hours will be Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Learn more in this Tucson Foodie article.

New Café and Bakery to Open at Presidio Museum

The Presidio Museum is welcoming the Dandelion Café and Bakery to its premises. This new restaurant will be open by January 24. Located in the museum’s newly-renovated 1907 duplex building, the restaurant will offer grab n’ go sandwiches and salads as well as charcuterie boards. The building renovation was funded largely by Rio Nuevo. The days and hours will be Tuesday-Sunday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at 196 N. Court Avenue. Read more in this Tucson Foodie article.

The HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival begins today January 13 through January 22. More than 20 world-class performers will appear over the 9-day festival in a variety of venues both indoor and outdoor. Click here to see all Jazz Fest artists.
