RECIPE for Rural STEM Day 2025 will be here before you know it! We are excited to invite community partners to join us for the 2025 RECIPE for Rural STEM Day! Now in its third year, this impactful event continues to grow and inspire. Last year, we welcomed over 1,200 5th and 6th-grade students, and this year, we’re projecting an incredible turnout of 1,800 participants.
Let’s work together to make a difference in our community by introducing young minds to the diverse STEM opportunities available right here at home. Join us in shaping the future—one student at a time!

Transportation Professional Day |
Here is an exciting, free expo-style event showcasing the world of transportation professions! Organized by the Louisiana Transportation Research Center and the Women’s Transportation Seminar – Greater Baton Rouge Chapter, this event will feature hands-on demonstrations from local transportation institutions, agencies, and companies. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families and K-12 students to explore career possibilities in transportation.

Where: Outside the Knock Knock Children’s Museum

SMART Scholarship - Due December 6, 2024 |
The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, provides an incredible opportunity for STEM students to receive full tuition, annual stipends, health and book allowances, mentorship, and internships at DoD facilities.
SMART Scholarship: For students with college credit or pursuing a graduate degree at a regionally accredited U.S. institution.
Dellums SMART Scholarship: For students without college credit who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on historically Black colleges and universities, minority institutions, and minority-serving institutions.
Both scholarships support students in one of 24 SMART STEM disciplines. Start your journey toward a civilian career with the DoD by reviewing the eligibility requirements today!
