Lions shine at state track and field
It was a banner weekend for the Sound Christian Academy boys and girls track and field teams at the Class 1B State Track and Field Championships in Yakima this weekend.
Junior Emara Henderson tied for second place in the discus with a throw of 108 feet, 7 inches.
The boys 4x400-meter relay team ran a personal best time of 3 minutes, 35.96 seconds to take second place. The team was made up of juniors Jadon Simpson and Ben Braun, and sophomores Noah Pitts and Zach McKnight.
Noah Pitts also placed third in the 400 meters in 53.50.
And last, but not least, senior Emy Arbogast took seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 31 feet, 9.25 inches. She also placed eighth in the high jump Friday, clearing 4-8.
