Dear colleagues,
I’m excited to share that the Writing Studio has expanded its services to include a new neurodiversity-focused writing support offering in partnership with the Student Access Services Office.
Through this new offering, we aim to tailor the Writing Studio support open to all Vanderbilt students in ways that honor the unique strengths, perspectives, and talents that neurodiverse students bring to our collective learning environment. Our goal is to make the Writing Studio a more neuroinclusive space for fostering students’ individual growth.
Referral-based Support
Students registered with the Student Access Services Office with a documented neurodivergence—including but not limited to learning differences/disabilities (LD), ADHD, or autism—can seek a referral from their Access Specialist.
We will then match referred students with a Writing Consultant for regular writing consultation sessions to establish an ongoing support relationship.
Is support available without a Student Access referral?
Yes! All students can, of course, schedule and receive individualized writing support through the Writing Studio without a Student Access referral. We have begun efforts to train our team of Writing Consultants on ways that all of our services and spaces can be more neuroinclusive and accessible.
