Wondering what resources D4I has available to support local capacity strengthening? This brief summarizes tools and resources developed by D4I, plus tools created under MEASURE Evaluation.

Strengthening Capacity in the DRC, Nigeria, and Rwanda

D4I works with countries to increase capacity for rigorous evaluation by engaging with local institutions and evaluators as essential collaborators, systems actors, and learning partners. The following case studies highlight D4I's partnership with three local partners–the Kinshasa School of Public Health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC); Data Research and Mapping Consult, Ltd. in Nigeria; and Rwanda's National Child Development Agency.

Conference Updates

Join D4I at the American Evaluation Association (AEA) Conference 2023 from October 9-14, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. During the conference, D4I staff and partners will participate in a roundtable on capacity strengthening in the DRC and Nigeria, a panel on narratives of sustainability in Nigeria, and a session about an assessment of the USAID Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Strategy.

Close-out Events

In July 2023, D4I held close-out events for the USAID-funded children in adversity activities in Armenia and Colombia.

Evaluating USAID Nigeria's Health, Population, and Nutrition (HPN) Activities

For the Nigeria HPN Multi-Activity Evaluation, D4I disseminated midline qualitative results at a national-level validation meeting in June and three state-level dissemination events in July/August.

D4I’s Work in Moldova Wins Multiple Awards

In June, D4I consortium partner Palladium was awarded the "Support to Ukraine" Global Impact Award from the International Stability Operations Association. The award recognizes D4I’s support of Ukrainian refugees in Moldova. USAID/Moldova celebrated and shared the news on its Facebook page.

In September, the USAID Bureau for Policy, Planning, and Learning recognized USAID/Moldova's D4I activity for external collaboration and adaptive management. D4I was one of nine winners of the 2023 Collaborate, Learn, and Adapt (CLA) Case Competition among more than 150 applicants. By harnessing the power of locally-led CLA, D4I has created a cultural shift in using data to improve child outcomes in Moldova.
