The team will honor the Class of 2022 on Senior Day with pre-game ceremonies before the first pitch. Game one is scheduled for 3 p.m. with game two beginning 20 minutes after the completion of game one (approximately 5 p.m.).

NJCU Women’s Tennis to Host NJAC Tournament Semifinal Against Stockton April 27 | 2 p.m. Lincoln Park Tennis Center
After a successful NJAC regular-season run, NJCU Women’s Tennis is set to host Stockton University for an NJAC Tournament Semifinal matchup on Wednesday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Tennis Center. The NJAC preseason poll projected the Gothic Knights in the #3 spot, but Jersey City proved otherwise after taking down the preseason No. 2 Stockton, 6-3, in last Saturday’s battle. The Green & Gold look to do it again on Wednesday at the Lincoln Park Tennis Center, with a berth in the 2022 NJAC Championship match at stake.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Criminal Justice Coffee Talk with Dr. Emmanuel Pierre-Louis '09 April 28 | 7-8 p.m. via Zoom
Please join the Criminal Justice Department for its first "Criminal Justice Coffee Talk with Dr. Emmanuel Pierre-Louis." Criminal Justice Alumnus Dr. Pierre-Louis '09 will be discussing his career in law enforcement (security and probation). He will also share career advice and potential internships and research positions in the field.
Dr. Emmanuel Pierre-Louis is the Program Director for the Superior Court of New Jersey - Passaic County Gun Violence Reduction program. He is an Adjunct Professor at both NJCU and Rutgers University-Newark School of Criminal Justice. Dr. Pierre-Louis is also a youth minister at Cityline Church where he serves the youth, young adults, and their families within the community and is a board member for several non-profit organizations.

NJCU’s Department of Public Safety encourages you to download the Rave Guardian free mobile app that turns your smartphone into a personal safety device.
By downloading the app on your mobile phone, you can invite friends and family to join your network as your “Guardians.” You can then request one or more of your Guardians to virtually walk with you on or off-campus. It’s like having an emergency blue light system and a trusted friend with you at all times.
The app also has a safety feature that directly connects you to campus security and the Jersey City Police Department in an emergency situation, as well as the abilit to submit an anonymous tip to campus security should you see something suspicious.
On behalf of the NJCU Department of Public Safety, I encourage all students, faculty and staff to enhance their personal safety and the safety of their friends by downloadin the free app. Simply search “Rave Guardian” in the app store on your mobile device. The School of Business is celebrating the development of its Virtual Classroom, a groundbreaking online learning platform designed to reproduce the intimacy and interaction of the physical classroom environment through a high-resolution video wall that mimics the amphitheater-style seating of a university lecture hall, with up to 60 participants displayed simultaneously.

At NJCU, Commencement provides our students an opportunity to celebrate their academic achievements with family, friends, faculty, alumni, and the entire University community. NJCU’s 2022 Commencement will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
Specific information regarding submission of a picture, quote, and/or thank you message, and the ability to submit your name for professional recording during the diploma process will be sent to eligible candidates via University email during the Spring 2022 semester. Additionally, Commencement regalia information will be announced in the coming months.
Similar to our 2021 Commencement exercises, we will have two ceremonies:
- 9 a.m. Ceremony: School of Business and College of Professional Studies (doors open at 8 a.m. for all graduates and all must be seated by 8:40 a.m.)

Multi-Style String Educators Symposium 2022
August 1-3, 2022
On the heels of last year’s success, the Division of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning (PELL) in partnership with the Music, Dance and Theatre (MDT) Department and its acclaimed faculty, hosts the Multi-Style String Educators Symposium 2022.
Under the direction of electro-acoustic violist Martha Mooke, Director of NJCU Multi-Style Strings, with Special Guest Artists Sweet Plantain String Quartet, participants will learn to play and learn to teach a wide variety of styles, including jazz, Latin, R&B, blues, African, Celtic, bluegrass, folk, and rock. The event will also feature repertoire of varying grade levels and styles, different approaches to improvisation and ways of incorporating electronics with special feature on Latin American music and styles.
The three-day event will be held Monday, August 1 through Wednesday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and on August 3, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. for the dress rehearsal and collaborative concert with Sweet Plantain.
