SCHOOL NOTES FROM MRS. WOODMAN
Dear Families and Friends,
Christ the King was honored with a visit from Superintendent Rebecca Hammel yesterday. She was able to see PreK working in centers, kindergarten doing calendar, first grade word processing in the technology lab, second grade interviewing a farmer by Skype, third grade weaving in art, fourth grade greeting each other in morning meeting, fifth grade using Accelerated Math on the Chromebooks, and seventh and eighth grade in choir and band. Mrs. Hammel observed and conversed with students, then met with Fr. Dexter and me to learn about CKS. She was complimentary of the students’ work and all that we offer to our community. We are blessed to have a new leader who shares a love for education and a positive outlook for the future of Catholic schools.
Last night’s presentation on Teen Suicide Prevention was very informative and well-received by participants. If you were not able to attend, it will be offered again this Sunday at 9:45 in the Parish Center.
Today we kicked off our Kindness Campaign, an initiative of the Office of Catholic Schools implemented through the counselors at each school and their Kindness Committees. The cheerleaders prepped us for the upcoming football, volleyball, and cross country events during our “Black Out” pep rally. We finish out the week with the 8th grade car wash and the Diocesan Cross Country Championship. Support our Raiders!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sherry Woodman
Principal
