Welcome New STS Lecturer Jacob Hellman

We are excited to welcome Dr. Jacob Hellman to the STS Department as a new lecturer this year. Dr. Hellman will be teaching STS 200F: What's New? Innovation as a Concept and Practice during the Autumn Quarter. He will also be closely involved with the STS Graduate Community.

Before joining Stanford, Dr. Hellman was a postdoctoral researcher at York University in Toronto and taught Sociology and Communication at the University of California, San Diego. His current research explores how financial technologies create forms of social belonging that extend beyond their economic functions.

Internship with Community-Based Nutrition Study

The Food for Health Equity Lab is offering a fall/winter internship in Redwood City for students interested in learning about community-based health research. Learn first-hand about health research in a community-based setting and work side-by-side with our experienced research team and health coaches. This is a unique learning opportunity for students interested in a career in clinical research, public health, social justice, or community wellness. All majors are welcome. Native-level fluency in Spanish is required.

Intern/Co-Op - Electronics Engineer - Spring 2025

Advanced Energy is currently seeking Electrical/Electronic Design Engineering Interns and Co-Ops to support development activities across our North American design sites. Successful candidates will carry out their internships at Advanced Energy’s sites in Colorado, Minnesota, New York, Massachusetts, or California. They will work with an experienced engineering team, closely collaborating on the development of high-performance, precision, efficient and cost-effective power conversion, metrology, or controls solutions. Both undergraduate and post-graduate candidates will be considered for fall and School-year internships.

Stanford Fall Career Fair

Virtual: October 22, 2024 10:00am-2:00pm, Handshake

This fall Stanford Career Education offers two ways to connect with employers and learn about opportunities. The in-person fair will be held on Canfield Court, and will include opportunities to connect with 150 diverse employers, who offer you a wide variety of opportunities and connections. The virtual fair will be held on the Handshake platform and allows for connections with employers who may not be able to travel to Stanford. For more information visit Stanford Career Education
