Welcome New STS Lecturer Jacob HellmanWe are excited to welcome Dr. Jacob Hellman to the STS Department as a new lecturer this year. Dr. Hellman will be teaching STS 200F: What's New? Innovation as a Concept and Practice during the Autumn Quarter. He will also be closely involved with the STS Graduate Community.
Before joining Stanford, Dr. Hellman was a postdoctoral researcher at York University in Toronto and taught Sociology and Communication at the University of California, San Diego. His current research explores how financial technologies create forms of social belonging that extend beyond their economic functions.
