Updated user interface for UIT Knowledge Base goes live on April 17

UIT will release a new portal with an updated user interface for the UIT Public Knowledge Base (KB) on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The self-serve online library contains hundreds of step-by-step instructions and general information for the U community on a variety of UIT service topics.

The URL for the new UIT KB portal will be https://uofu.service-now.com/uitkb (login required), which will go live before the end of day on April 17. Please update your bookmarks and reference links as needed.

Below is a summary of key changes:

New footer functionality allows users to submit a star rating from one to five, mark the article as helpful or not, and copy a permalink, which is a permanent URL that remains valid even if the content is moved or updated
Addition of a new “most useful” article widget
Most useful and most viewed article widgets will include star rating information in addition to number of views
Users may subscribe to the UIT Knowledge Base from the KB homepage, which opts them in to receive an email notification when a new knowledge article is published
