Dr. Nicky Fox named 2024 Woman of Consequence

The Bryn Mawr School awarded NASA scientist Dr. Nicola “Nicky” Fox the 2024 Howard P. Colhoun Family Woman of Consequence Award on October 24, 2024, for her groundbreaking contributions to space science research. Dr. Fox visited campus, speaking with Lower, Middle and Upper School students about her impressive career overseeing over 140 NASA missions.

Maryland STEM Career Fair for Girls - Nov. 9

We are excited to host the Maryland STEM Career Fair for Girls at Bryn Mawr  on Saturday, November 9 from 8:30 am-12:00 pm, as part of the Maryland STEM Festival's 10th anniversary! Hear from keynote speaker Jay Greene '09, meet inspiring women in STEM and learn how you can turn innovative ideas into reality. This year’s theme, "Engineering: Ideas Into Reality," encourages students to explore how engineering can shape the future. 

Bryn Mawr On Top in Niche.com Rankings

This year Niche.com ranked Bryn Mawr among the top schools in the nation, Maryland and the Baltimore area.  We were recognized as the best private k-12 school in Baltimore and the best high school for STEM in Baltimore.

The past month at Bryn Mawr has been full of excitement.  There were bunnies in the first grade, a NASA scientist, and of course Halloween!

Bryn Mawr Athletics Hall of Fame

We are excited to announce the establishment of the Athletics Hall of Fame at Bryn Mawr! The Hall of Fame will honor individual athletes, teams, coaches, and administrators, as well as those who have made significant contributions to our athletics program.

Update from Athletics

Varsity field hockey is competing in the IAAM A Conference championship game Sunday Nov. 3 after defeating Garrison Forest in a double overtime shootout.  Varsity tennis was undefeated in the regular season, won the IAAM A Conference Championships! Cross country finished 6th place overall in the IAAM A Conference.  Varsity soccer lost in the quarterfinals after a great season. Volleyball had a tremendous season, beating Roland Park for the first time in over 5 years!

Update from the Arts

The Upper School musical "Little Women the Broadway Musical" opens tonight!  Performed by Bryn Mawr and Gilman Upper School students, this coming of age story follows Jo March, who wants more to her life than New England society of the late 1800s has to offer. This heartwarming musical features classic moment’s from Alcott’s novel as well as a fantastical homage to melodrama as some of Jo’s stories come to life on stage.

• Anna Morrow ’24 was featured on the Davidson College website for her disability advocacy and involvement at Davidson in her first semester on campus.  

• There is a new immersive tour at the White House and Vienna Lin ’98 was the creative director behind the experience.  
• Hilary Harp Falk ’97  was named a Woman to Watch by the Baltimore Sun in recognition of her work with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.  
•  Megan Long ’25 was named IAAM Athlete of the Week for her excellent play and leadership on the IAAM A Conference winning tennis team.  Harper King ’26, Penelope Sifakis ’25 and Hanna Kim ’26 were named to the IAAM All Conference tennis team as well.  Congratulations!
• Erika Eason ’91 was featured in Access Points magazine (find her on page 12) for her leadership as an educator at Maret School.  
• Alice Li ’25 won the New York Golden Classical Music Awards 2024 International Competition for her talented harp performance.  Congratulations Alice!
