In this Downtown Update, Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) is proud to release our Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Annual Report, highlight more tours with city and county officials, and reveal a new addition to our Storefront Vinyl Program at a historic warehouse on Toole. Plus, we’re excited to welcome five new downtown businesses, a new exhibition at Blue Lotus, celebrate the return of Tucson Roadrunners Hockey and dive into spooky October events and business specials. DTP Reports Another Successful Year in New Report
The DTP is proud to share our FY 23/24 Annual Report, highlighting key accomplishments from the past year. These include our Clean & Safe Initiatives, major strides in Marketing and Communications, the continued success of the Storefront Vinyl Program, the welcoming of new Downtown Tucson businesses, the Downtown for Everyone Grant Program, and our Public Space Activation efforts.

New Addition to Storefront Vinyl Program
Through DTP’s Storefront Vinyl Program, sponsored by Rio Nuevo, 15 vibrant vinyl wraps have been added to the windows at 35 E Toole Avenue, in partnership with Fenton Investment Company. This historic warehouse, featuring 8,000 square feet of divisible space with 22’ ceilings and exposed trusses, is available for lease. Located next to the award-winning BATA restaurant, it’s the perfect opportunity to be part of downtown’s thriving scene. For restaurant & retail inquiries, call 520-797-6700.

As more and more businesses set up shop this year, downtown continues to thrive as a hub that celebrates creativity and community, making it an exciting place to live, work and play.

Rhythmic Abstraction: The Art of Arthur Monroe
Blue Lotus Artists’ Collective at 15 E Pennington Street is presenting a solo exhibition of large-scale, abstract paintings and works on paper by the late Oakland-based artist Arthur Monroe. Monroe’s works reflect his participation in several of the major cultural movements of the twentieth century. The opening reception begins tonight, October 11, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. The exhibition will go on until January 25, 2025. Throughout the fall/winter, there are exciting special events planned including a performance by the UA School of Dance, Spoken Word Poetry, a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and more.

Meep Meep: It's Ice Hockey Season in the Desert
Join the excitement as the Tucson Roadrunners kick off their first home game and ninth season on October 19 at 7:00 p.m. Experience the refreshing, air-conditioned atmosphere of the Tucson Arena, perfect for a family-friendly outing. Howl at the Museum
Prepare for an unforgettable night at Howl at the Museum!
