Prepare for Supplemental Events with Starter Kits
|
Our starter kits include event overviews, strategies, sample videos, and advice from national finalists. The latest installment is Storytelling, which was authored by the 2022 national champion. Check them out or share them with students!

These resources are a great way to gear up for Nationals! Many of the featured events are supplementals for high school or main events at middle school. Remember, every member high school can send up to two students in supplementals, and students can explore entering in more than one event. Middle School Nationals registration is open!

District Leadership » Our district leader election is underway! One advisor per high school school may log in to their NSDA Account and select "NSDA Voting" from the left side menu. Voting ends April 28. All active coaches are eligible to serve on their District Committee. District leaders play a crucial role in our organization and the facilitation of local speech and debate. 2023 Hall of Fame Voting » The highest honor for any high school speech and debate coach is election to the NSDA Hall of Fame. Current Hall of Fame members and active coaches with three or more Diamond Awards may vote online to select this year’s inductees. To access the ballot, log in to your NSDA Account and select “NSDA Voting” from the left side menu. Voting ends April 28.

Recognize Academic and Competitive Excellence
|
The prestigious Academic All American award celebrates high school students for academic and competitive success. To be eligible, students must have:
- Earned the degree of Superior Distinction (750 points)
- Completed at least 5 semesters of high school
- Demonstrated outstanding character and leadership
- Earned a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
Students who meet the points requirement are marked with a yellow box that says AAA? on your Student Roster. It's free and easy to submit a nomination, and the award makes an excellent addition to resumes or scholarship applications.

Celebrate Diversity This April

April is Celebrate Diversity Month! It's a great opportunity to pause and ensure our classrooms and tournaments are inclusive and equitable for everyone. You can make a difference by taking one of our NSDA Learn courses or implementing equitable practices in your activities. When we celebrate diversity, we gain a deeper understanding of those around us and make our community stronger.
