Statewide Listening Tour

The Arc Maryland is launching a Statewide Listening Tour. They want to hear from the family members of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities! This is an opportunity to meet with other families and representatives from The Arc and share your stories. Make your voice heard: share your experiences, what is working, what is not working, and what needs to be changed. Click here to learn more.

Gift Outside the Box

'Tis the season to gift outside the box! Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is partnering with County agencies and organizations for the third consecutive year to provide residents with ways to go green in their holiday giving. Buy local, give back to favorite causes, and reduce/reuse/recycle! Our Urban Thrift store is the perfect way to "gift outside the box." Click here to learn more.

Be Safe, Be Seen

Montgomery County is launching a "Be Safe, Be Seen" campaign to increase safety during decreased daylight. The County hopes to make drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists aware of the added perils that come with time changes, and decreased hours of afternoon daylight. Click here to learn more.

Purple Line Construction Impacts Bus Routes

The Purple Line and Capital Crescent Trail are on their way, but construction of the 16-mile east-west light rail line that will connect the Bethesda and New Carrollton metro stations will necessitate temporary bus route modifications in the Silver Spring area starting Sunday, Dec. 1.
