2025 Economic Impact Report
|
Travel Oregon recently released the 2025 Economic Impact of Travel report, highlighting the continued importance of tourism to communities across the state. In 2025, Oregon’s tourism industry generated $14.6 billion in travel spending, supported more than 122,920 jobs, and contributed $741 million in state and local tax revenue.
The report also includes regional and county-level data that helps illustrate the value of visitor spending in supporting local businesses, jobs, and community investments across Oregon – including here in Southern Oregon with a 3.6% increase in visitor spend over 2024. | Request for Proposals: 2027 Travel Jam |
Travel Southern Oregon is now accepting proposals for the 2027 Southern Oregon Travel Jam conference. We are seeking a venue partner to host this one-day regional tourism conference for approximately 120–140 attendees, including meeting space, breakout room options, catering, and AV capabilities. Hotels, conference venues, and event spaces throughout the region are encouraged to apply.
Proposals are due by July 17, 2026.

April Regional Research Report |
In April, hotel Demand throughout the Southern Oregon Region slowed compared to one year prior and fell 1.1% YoY, while Supply was elevated, up 2.3% YoY. As a result, hotel Occupancy dropped 3.2% from last April to average 56.2% throughout the region.
Klamath County was the only county to see an occupancy increase, rising by 2.9% YoY. Klamath, Douglas, and Jackson County hotels all saw ADR increase in April.
Short-term rental occupancy throughout the region averaged 48.1% for the month, down 0.9% from last year. Ashland reported the third highest Occupancy in the region at 55.5% and experienced an increase compared to April last year.

| CLNP Local Hiring Announcement Open Until 5/29! |
Crater Lake National Park is seeking summer seasonal interpretive positions at the park. Seasonal interpreters at the park staff the information desk at two contact stations, answer phones, respond to emails, and conduct interpretive programs which may include talks, guided hikes, junior ranger programs, night sky programs, and evening campfire programs, all focused on park resources. The jobs are full-time (5 days a week, 8 hour days) but temporary and will go from early July through September or possibly longer. Work on weekends and holidays can be expected.
Applicants have to provide proof of residence in Klamath, Jackson, Douglas, or Deschutes Counties in Oregon, and must submit their resume by this Friday, 5/29.

Seeking Input From Oregon’s Food & Beverage Community |
Travel Oregon is in the process of developing strategies and tactics for elevating Oregon as a top culinary destination and is seeking input from restaurants, beverage producers, farmers and food systems organizations to ensure the statewide strategy reflects their perspectives and priorities.
Please join us on June 4 from 10:30am - noon on Zoom. This meeting is part of our Food Systems and Tourism Learning community and will also provide attendees the opportunity to share project updates and seek input from peers across the state and across sectors.
