Voices of Inner Strength Fall Concert
Saturday, November 12, 7:00 p.m., Cannon Chapel
Join the Emory University Office of Spiritual and Religious Life (OSRL) and the Voices of Inner Strength Gospel Choir (VOIS) for our annual Fall Concert. VOIS offers a space for soul healing and reflection through worship music of many different Christian genres.
Parking is free on Saturdays at Emory's Oxford Road and Peavine parking lots.
Food will be provided after the concert.

ISSS and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life (OSRL) invite you to a very special International Community Friday Lunch (ICFL) on November 18. International students and scholars will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional US Thanksgiving meal generously sponsored by the Office of the Provost. Come try turkey and all the traditional sides and learn about this national holiday. Early registration is recommended because meals are limited, and this event is sure to be a big hit.
Please note this will be the last ICFL of the fall semester, but we will be back after classes resumes in January.

Join International InterVarsity Fellowship for Thanksgiving dinner and game time for international students & visiting scholars, who are studying and researching at colleges in GA. The event includes a traditional thanksgiving dinner, learning about Thanksgiving traditions and American cultures, cross-cultural conversations with fellows, chances to win valuable awards, and community.
The dinner and games will be inside.
There is a $10 registration fee that will be refunded at the check in table to limit food waste for those who will not show up.

Community Conversations: Emory Talks Climate Action, First Session

This school year, all Emory students, staff, and faculty are invited to and encouraged to join any of six "Community Conversations: Emory Talks Climate Action" sessions. These facilitated Conversations will ensure that the work being completed by Emory's Climate Action Task Force, a group of student, faculty, staff, and community members spearheading Emory's Climate Action Plan, is informed by the entire Emory Community.
Community Conversations are a key part of the University's continued progress toward its goals of reducing emissions by 45% by 2030 and reaching net zero emissions by 2050 using a 2010 baseline. Learn more here.

Concrete Jungle Corn Pick Adventure

Concrete Jungle is a nonprofit that gleans excess produce from farms and orchards to donate to local shelters and food banks. Saturday, November 12 from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m., we are gleaning from a corn farm in Sumner, GA to donate to Second Harvest of South Georgia. There's 2 acres of corn (approx 40,000 lbs) to glean so we need all the help we can get.
Afterward, we'll go on an outdoor adventure nearby in South Georgia. Folks can sign up HERE to participate.

TIJS Jews of Poland: History and Memory Study Abroad Experience
In Summer 2023, TIJS is excited to offer Emory undergraduates the study abroad experience of a lifetime: a ten-day summer study abroad program in Poland. The program, generously supported by the Berger Family Fund, will be led by TIJS core faculty member Ellie Schainker, the Arthur Blank Family Foundation Associate Professor of Modern European Jewish History.
Through this opportunity for on-site learning, Schainker aspires to provide students with the opportunity to explore a thousand years of Jewish life in Poland, study the history of Nazi occupation and Soviet domination, and consider the flourishing of Jewish life in Poland today alongside the country’s grappling with its history and role in the Holocaust. The Office of Sustainability Initiatives is searching for interns for next semester.
Our Communications and Marketing Intern manages social media, writes articles, creates newsletters, and much more. OSI provides opportunities for this intern to fine-tune a range of skills through creative, active, and meaningful channels.
Our General Sustainability Interns work on a variety of projects and programs that span all of OSI's initiative areas (ex: Academics, Biodiversity and Landscapes, Buildings, Climate and Air, etc.). These interns often work on research, benchmarking, implementation, and outreach in all areas of sustainability.
