We hope that your studies this winter are off to a strong start! And we understand that the first week of 2021 brought some difficult challenges. It can be difficult to stay focused during these challenging times, which is why it's so important that you take time to take care of your self, be kind to one another, and make use of the many resources available to you at UC Santa Barbara.

• Make the most of the resources provided by Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS), including: academic skills workshops and support, tutorial groups, online drop-in labs, and more.
• Visit the Keep Learning: Resources for Remote Learning website for advice specific to learning virtually.
  
• Check out the pre-recorded academic support workshops created by CLAS listed on the Shoreline calendar. There are more than 10 workshops available, including Learning Online, Fighting Procrastination, and Focus.
• Talk about your academic support needs with your instructor or academic advisor for personalized recommendations. Check out these Academic Resources for additional information.
  

• Take a deep breath and remember, you are not alone. Seriously! When we are feeling stressed, our minds often mislead us to believe we are the only ones that feel the way we do. That's not the case – and our caring UC Santa Barbara community is here for you!
• Visit the Student Wellbeing resources site for more information about support available from a variety of departments at UCSB.
• Check out the Mental Health Peers website for information about their programs including drop-in peer counseling, workshops, and the school anxiety program. We especially recommend their Toolbox for Coping and Challenges and Strengths for Unique Student Groups.

• Visit the Basic Needs Resources site for extensive guidance.
• Check out the A.S. Community Financial Fund notice in this email. One-time* $200 grants are available! (*Per academic year.)
• If you haven't already, discuss your financial aid eligibility and receive individualized guidance from an advisor in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and/or a counselor from the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP).
