Feb. 15 – Let's Do Lunch
The next Let’s Do Lunch event will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, at noon at Union Standard. Each lunch usually has a specific theme, but this time it will be an open forum on women in the profession. Feb. 21 – Lean-In Circle
Lean-In Circle meetings are held the third Thursday of every month. The next meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 21, at SMGG law firm. In February, we will continue discussing setting professional goals for 2019. WLD seeks candidates for 2019 officers and members of executive council
The WLD Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for the upcoming election of the WLD Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer for 2019-20, and for six council seats with three-year terms. Candidates must be willing and able to attend monthly council meetings, serve on at least one standing committee and actively participate in planning and implementing the programs and projects of the WLD. 
Any ACBA member desiring to run for an office or a seat on WLD Council should submit an application email expressing their interest, along with a resume, to one of the Nominating Committee co-chairs: Tara Pfeifer or Danielle Dietrich. The Nominating Committee encourages applications from both women and men. Applications are due by 3 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Employer best practices input requested for Bench-Bar
The WLD Bench-Bar Committee is focusing this year’s Bench-Bar CLE on management best practices, and is collecting information on how employers handle a situation well, as well as policies or procedures that have had a positive impact on culture, diversity, productivity, retention and effectively addressing/preventing bias and harassment. If you or your organization are willing to share guidance or materials on these topics or on how complaints are collected, investigated and addressed in your company — or if you have any questions —email Amber Archer at Ala@ssf-lawfirm.com.

  • Congratulations to Beverly Block and Christine Tillapaugh, who have been selected by the Pittsburgh Business Times as two of its 2019 Women of Influence Award recipients. This award honors professional women in western Pennsylvania for outstanding performance and influence on the region and their industry. The awards event will be hosted at the Westin Convention Center on Wednesday, March 20, beginning with a networking reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by the awards presentation ceremony at 5:30 p.m. and a reception.   • Congratulations to Nicole Daller, who has been promoted to partner of the Law Office of Vicki Kuftic Horne. Attorney Daller is a trial attorney in employment and securities matters, practicing in state and federal courts and arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The Law Office of Vicki Kuftic Horne is a boutique law firm representing executives and professionals in employment relationships, individual customers who have experienced investment losses, and resolving small business disputes.

Commonality Summit #2
The Executive Women’s Council of Greater Pittsburgh will present Commonality Summit #2, The C-Suite Series on Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the downtown offices of K&L Gates. The program is intended to facilitate frank conversations to help eliminate barriers to success for women in the business world.

Keynote speaker is Christina Cassotis, chief executive officer for the Allegheny County Airport Authority. Session leaders are: Christie Breves, senior vice president - manufacturing support & chief supply chain officer at United States Steel Corporation; Christine Bryant, senior vice president for polyurethanes, Covestro LLC North America; A.J. Drexler, CEO & chief strategist at Campos; Toni Murphy, vice president of Comcast Business – Keystone Region; and Kristina K. Williams, chief operating officer, FHLBank.
