Katya Armistead, Ed.D.
Assistant Vice Chancellor & Dean of Student Life
Congratulations on completing your first week of classes! The quarter is kicking into gear and is now in full swing. There's a lot to look forward to in October, like ASPB's Delirium concert at the end of the month to celebrate Halloween. As you begin to make plans for these events, remember to stay safe and look out for your fellow Gauchos. Keep an eye out for more information about Halloween events throughout the month.
Students are always my first priority, and I’ve been working on better ways to connect. A new
Dean of Students webpage just launched featuring my social media feeds and what’s happening on campus. Feel free to follow me on
Instagram and
Twitter, and if you see me out and about on campus, try to grab a selfie – maybe you’ll be featured on my pages!
Classes are also picking up; don’t forget about your resources!
Campus Learning Assistance Services is great place for brand new Gauchos and seasoned students to brush up on their studying skills and get help with course material.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at StudentLife@sa.ucsb.edu if you have any questions or comments, or if you would like to feature your events in this newsletter. Happy October!
