Dear Traveler:

You don’t need a calendar to know that spring is only a few short weeks away. A warmer-than-usual February has flowered out some of our foliage and tempted weekend wanderers to shrug off their parkas and hit the trails. It’s not yet entirely clear whether March will come in like a lion, a lamb, or (more likely in these parts) a fluffy white squirrel, but there’s no doubt that fortune favors the bold. No matter the weather, adventure awaits, whether on a high mountain peak, or comfortably ensconced in an auditorium full of beautiful music. Maybe you’ll even stumble on a four-leaf clover.

See you in the spring!

Has the crown been lying especially heavy this season? Need a little pomp and circumstance to pump you in time for Monday? The Brevard Philharmonic’s got you covered with a stately afternoon of some grand favorites. Conductor Charles Jones Evans and guest soloist, and internationally acclaimed pianist, David Gross will kick things off with William Walton’s Crown Imperial, to be followed by Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5 Emperor, Johann Strauss Jr’s Emperor Waltzes and Igor Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.  It’s a matinee fit for a queen.
